The GT Ultra features a retractable antenna that is compatible in laptops with PC Card (Type II) slots. It automatically installs the AT&T Communication Manager software when first used with notebooks that have Microsoft Windows Vista/XP/2000, providing an easy plug-and-play installation experience. (Apple Mac notebook owners can download a free Mac client from the Option Wireless support site.)

Quickly and easily send and receive e-mail and access the Internet on AT&T's 3G High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) BroadbandConnect wireless network. AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to deploy enhanced upload speeds through High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) in its HSPA network. Users who travel outside of a 3G coverage area seamlessly fall back to the EDGE network, the largest national high speed wireless data network in the U.S.

It offers tri-band UMTS/HSPA (850/1900/2100 MHz) and GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) compatible, making it easy to connect in more than 140 countries--including Japan and Korea.
